Brooke Burke-Charvet Talks Abrupt Firing from DANCING WITH THE STARS
In a new interview with Shape magazine, former DANCING WITH THE STARS co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet spoke out about her abrupt firing from the ABC dance competition series. 'I honestly didn't see it coming!', shares the actress.
Last February, the network announced that the 42-year-old would be replaced on the show by sports reporter Erin Andrews, herself a former contestant on the show. According to Burke Charvet, the news was given to her in a phone call just moments before she was about to take her kids to school for the day. She admits that she would have preferred the network had 'gone about it in a different way.'
Despite the bad experience, she manages to keep a postive outlook on things. 'If you can laugh during the stressful times in your life, it helps you get through them. What was I going to do? Cry?,' she told the magazine.
Brooke is a DWTS champion, winning the coveted mirror ball trophy with her professional dance partner Derek Hough during the show's seventh season. 'The one thing I learned in the ballroom was how to dance through the chaos of life gracefully,' she shares. 'The way you Exit is as important as the way you walk in the door.'
Shortly after being let go from the show last February, Brooke issued a statement to her fans, commenting, 'I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting DWTS but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture. I've always been one to embrace change and looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn't able to entertain because of contractual obligations to the show. I've seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake.'Read the story in full here!
