Deadline reports that Broadway vet Tituss Burgess (Rent, The Little Mermaid, Jersey Boys, Guys and Dolls), has joined the cast of Tina Fey and Robert Carlock's new NBC 13-episode series TOOKEN.

Burgess, who portrayed D'Fwan, a member of Tracy Jordan's wife's entourage on NBC's 30 Rock for two seasons, joins previously announced cast member Ellie Kemper in the project written by Fey and Carlock, who will also serve as showrunners.

Tooken will follow Kemper's character Kimmy, who escapes from a doomsday cult and begins life anew in New York City. Burgess will portray "a gay, larger-than-life, dfwangenuinely talented singer who has never made it to Broadway and lives hand-to-mouth, working as a robot in Times Square. His relationship with Kimmy will re-energize him."
