Breaking: Jessica Chastain to Star in Second Season of HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE?
TVGuide.com reports that Jessica Chastain has been offered the lead role in the second season of the HBO hit drama TRUE DETECTIVE. The site reports that the Oscar nominee has not yet accepted the offer and that HBO did not immediately respond to their request for comment.
The freshman season of the critically acclaimed detective drama starred Matthew McCounaghey and Woody Harrelson as partners who work together to solve a complex series of crimes over two decades. The anthology series is set to feature a new cast along with a new story line that will be unrelated to previous arcs. Creator Nic Pizzolatto had previously commented that he hoped to cast a female lead for the show's sophomore season.
