Benjamin Stockham Joins Cast of NBC's Comedy Pilot 1600 PENN

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Benjamin Stockham has joined the cast of NBC's upcoming comedy pilot 1600 PENN. The actor will join previously announced cast members Bill Pullman, Jenna ElfmanBrittany Snow, Amara Miller, Josh Gad and Andre Holland.

Stockham will portray Xander, the youngest son in the First Family. If the project is picked up by NBC, the actor will become a series regular. His character is described as "rebellious and always looking for ways to undermine authority."

1600 PENN centers on widower President Gilchrist (Pullman) and his second wife, Emily Nash Gilchrist (Elfman) as they attempt to manage the stress of the President's job with their complicated family situation. 

Gad, Modern Family director Jason Winer and former Obama speechwriter Jonathan Lovett are will co-write the script and serve as executive producers on the project. Winer will also direct the pilot from 20th Century Fox Television.

Stockham portrayed Robby Gunderson in Fox’s short-lived 2010 comedy 'Sons of Tucson' for which he received a Young Artist Award and a Youth Rocks Award nomination. His other TV credits include   Rizzoli & Isles, CSI: NY, and Criminal Minds. He will soon appear in the upcoming films Simon Says and Saving Santa.
