BYE BYE BIRDIE's Nolan Gerard Funk Cast in Bret Easton Ellis' Film THE CANYONS

Writer Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho) announced today on Twitter ‏(@BretEastonEllis) that he has cast Nolan Gerard Funk in the upcoming film, The Canyons, also starring Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen and directed by Paul Schrader.

Ellis wrote, "NOLAN FUNK as Ryan. I'll be announcing the rest of the cast of THE CANYONS this week."

According to Kickstarter, which Ellis and Schrader used to raise more than $159,000 for the film, The Canyons is a "contemporary thriller" that "documents five twenty-something's quest for power, love, sex and success in 2012 Hollywood."

Funk played Conrad Birdie in the 2009 Roundabout revival of Bye Bye Birdie on Broadway. Funk is currently filming The Movie and has appeared on screen in Spectacular! and X2, as well as TV's Supernatural, The L Word, Smallville, Warehouse 13, Lie to Me, Detroit 187, Hellcats and Castle and Aliens in America.

Nick Jonas Film THE GOOD HALF To Be Released This Summer

Following its premiere at the Tribeca Festival last June, The Good Half, starring Nick Jonas, will be hitting theaters this July. According to reports, the film has been acquired by Utopia and, in partnership with Fathom Events, a limited release will include 900 North American theaters on July 23 and 25. Attendees will also get to see a virtual Q&A with Jonas and director Robert Schwartzman. A wide release is expected later in the year.

Steve Carell Joins Tina Fey in Netflix's THE FOUR SEASONS

According to multiple reports, Steve Carell has closed a deal which would reunite him with Tina Fey in a television remake of The Four Seasons from Netflix. The Office alum will star in the remake of Alan Alda's 1981 feature, who will star alongside Tina Fey in the series. Fey co-created the adaptation with Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, whom she worked with on 30 Rock. The film is set to go into production later this year.
