Last we saw our heroes, they were just landing back in 2016 after returning from 1754's French and Indian War. Things weren't going so well for the gang during their last expedition: they were pretty darn mad at each other, Flynn was still very much at large, and to make matters worse, they were stranded in the middle of one of the worst time periods of American history.

The only thing that really changed by the time Rufus, Wyatt, and Lucy arrived back in the present? They were a little less mad at each other.

Otherwise, a lot of key information is still unclear - or just downright unexplained - despite TIMELESS being so far into the season. What is Flynn's real motive? Who is he working for? What's his goal? Who or what is Rittenhouse? Why specifically choose Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus for these missions?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that tonight's episode will start diving more into these questions (hey, you never know!). The trio finds themselves caught up in the Apollo 11 mission during the height of the space race, so if nothing else, I'm hoping that this episode will at least make the space nerd in me happy.

Join me right here and on Twitter @CourtHenley tonight at 10 PM EST as I recap the newest episode of TIMELESS!

10:05: I knew what was going to happen with the moon landing and I was still stressed!

You know who doesn't seem stressed at all? Flynn. Look at him, casually chatting up astronauts who walked on the moon, like it's no big deal.

10:15: Am I the only one who thinks Flynn is an absolute creep? I mean, obviously he's the bad guy in all of this (or is he? We still can't be 100% sure), but he's also just a creep.

Aww, Rufus is nerding out over the space program! How adorable! He's consistently the one most relatable character on this entire show.

10:20: It's pretty amazing how Anthony just snuck into NASA's computer control room, messed around with a few things, and slipped back out without anyone noticing. Security really has changed since 1969!

But really, knocking out all communication systems on what is easily the most important space event in human history is pretty bad, even for Flynn.

10:25: Flynn's risking Neil Armstrong's and Buzz Aldrin's lives to help...the Russians. Naturally.

Wow, Anthony, way to have faith in your former student!

10:30: Katherine Johnson, AKA the best, most dynamic character in this episode, hands down.

Seriously now, Flynn's level of obsession over Maria is getting weird. Or rather, it's getting weirder. It started out pretty weird. Why is he constantly watching her?

10:36: And now you're asking the little kid if he wants ice cream, Flynn?! Come on!

10:40: Ha, 2 MB. 2 MB are what's running NASA in 1969 and I'm sitting here silently complaining about how my 16 GB phone doesn't have enough room to store all of my pictures.

10:46: The police call attention to Wyatt's stake out, and Flynn knows he's being watched. Meanwhile, Lucy's had enough of the blatant sexism running rampant through the building and goes off on one of the resident rocket scientists.

10:50: Alright, alright, so Anthony is working with Flynn solely to prevent Rittenhouse from getting hold of the time machine (which blew Katherine's mind when she heard of its existence). But what does Rittenhouse plan to do with the machine?

10:55: I love how mid-Russian spy discussion the infamous "one small step for man" speech airs on television.

Ok, so I'm confused. Flynn knows Maria and saved her son. Just tell us how they're related already!

10:58: Perfect, thanks for updating us! Maria is Flynn's mother, and the little boy is his half brother, who was supposed to die due to that bee sting. He saved his family, once again, without worrying about the consequences.

And just like that, another episode wraps. We're still not any closer to finding out the true motive behind any of Flynn's actions, or about who or what Rittenhouse even is. All we've learned is that Rufus has changed quite a bit since he first started working for Mason. Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus did their usual save-the-day routine, but all in all, this wasn't a terribly groundbreaking episode.
