Your favorite precinct returns when the second season of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE premieres on September 28th. Unlike last season, however, the show will now air on Sundays at 8:30/7:30c on FOX.

In the final episode of the first season, "Charges and Specs," Officer Jake Peralta, played by Andy Samberg, was hot on case of noted philanthropist Lucas Wint, who he suspected to be laundering drug money. However, Commissioner Podolski and Captain Holt, played by Andre Braugher, told him to back off. Obviously, Jake being Jake, he continued to pursue it. He enlists Amy Santiago for help, who even goes as far to disobey Holt, to back Jake. After a few great moments, like my personal favorite when Holt seduces the judge with a simple "wassup," Jake is able to get the proof he needs in order to get reinstated and bust Wint. However, after Holt receives a cryptic call, he urges Jake to trust him and not give up the evidence. In fact, he also asks Jake to get fired. We later find out that the FBI is undergoing a bigger investigation into the Ianucci crime family, who Wint has had ties with. The FBI asks Jake to go undercover for six months, to which he promptly accepts. This sets up the major storyline for the beginning of season two, with Jake close to the Ianucci family. I expect him to break the case, but not without some pretty silly mistakes in the process.

In the Season One finale, we also got to see the aftermath of Detective Boyle's break-up with Vivian. His way of coping, Boyle, played by Joe Lo Truglio, adapts a Matrix-like wardrobe and will only eat hard-boiled eggs for "sustenance." The end of the episode also brought the shocking reveal of Boyle waking up in bed with Gina (Chelsea Peretti). I doubt we will see more romance between the two of them, especially since Gina was a proponent of Boyle finding a rebound one night stand to get over Vivian. And I also don't see a relationship blossoming between Boyle and Detective Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) in the near future, but who knows what surprises might be in store for us!

Probably the most interesting part of "Charges and Specs," was Jake telling Santiago how he felt about her. In a very real moment, unlike most confessions of love on television, Jake, unsure about his future, tells Amy that he wished something could happen between them. He also tells her that he would've regretted not letting her know before he goes undercover. I am interested to see how this unfolds in the next season, especially since Amy is in a serious relationship with Teddy. However, I definitely expect them to end up together, even if it is slow to come.

The upcoming season also brings many guest stars. Jenny Slate, Terrell Owens, and Eva Longoria are scheduled to make appearances. Patton Oswalt is also set to return as Fire Marshall Boone. Things said to heat up between him and Samberg's character on the football field again when Boone enlists Terrell Owens to combat Detective Sargent Terry Jeffords (played by Terry Crews). Kyra Sedgwick is also set to guest star in two episodes at Captain Holt's rival. TV Guide also reports that Ed Helms will appear on the seventh episode as a United States Postal Inspection Service agent who gets in the way when Detective Peralta sets out to work on his special FBI assignment. Helm's is only scheduled for one episode, but show runners say that anyone who comes on the show has the possibility to return.

Season Two promises a lot of mob bosses, undercover Jake with big hair, great guest appearances and more! Take a look at the preview below, and make sure to tune in September 28th at 8:30/7:30c on FOX, and don't forget to head back here afterwards to share your comments about the premiere episode!
