GHOSTBUSTERS is getting a makeover and seeking the Bridesmaids director to lead it.

Variety reports that Paul Feig, also known for directing The Heat, has been in talks with Sony to direct a GHOSTBUSTERS reboot, starring comediennes in the lead roles. However, no formal negotiations have been made yet.

Feig is also directing the new Melissa McCarthy film SPY, set to be released Memorial Day 2015, and may very likely happen before GHOSTBUSTERS.

Paul Feig is an actor, producer, and director best known for Bridesmaids (2011), The Heat (2013), and I am David (2003).

The GHOSTBUSTERS franchise, originally about unemployed parapsychology professors who become a ghost removal agency, has had three different films and a cartoon series.
