BAFTA Launches Call for Entries for British Academy Scotland Awards 2013

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in Scotland, BAFTA Scotland has launched its annual call for entries for the British Academy Scotland Awards, inviting talent from the country's moving image industries to submit films, documentaries, animation and games works for consideration.

The glittering event - held annually to recognise, honour and reward individuals for outstanding achievement in Scotland - will take place on Sunday 17 November at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow.

Entries can be made via the BAFTA online entry portal with full details to be found at www.bafta.org/scotland. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 31 July at 5pm. Judging will take place in September, with the official list of nominees being unveiled on the week beginning 14 October.

Alan de Pellette, Acting Director of BAFTA Scotland, said: "The sheer wealth and diversity of Scottish television, film and games continues to grow each year. We had an extraordinary response to last year's call for entries resulting in one of the best award ceremonies we've ever hosted. We're extremely excited to see what 2013 brings and we're sure it will be nothing short of outstanding."

Some of last year's winners included Mrs. Brown's Boys for Best Entertainment, The Antiques Road Trip for Best Factual Entertainment, Paul Laverty for Best Writer for The Angel's Share, Up There for Best Feature Film and The Making Of Longbird for Animation. Billy Connolly received the Outstanding Contribution to Television and Film Award while Paul McGuigan took home a Special Recognition Award for Sherlock.

This year's Scotland Awards will feature 14 categories:

8. Game
9. Single Documentary
10. Television Drama
11. Actor/Actress - Television
