AutFest to Screen Power Rangers and With Special Guests RJ Cyler and Co-Writer John Gatins

AutFest International Film Festival celebrates autism awareness with a screening of POWER RANGERS (2017), followed by a panel discussion, as part of their 2018 lineup. POWER RANGERS is the first super hero movie to include an autistic lead character, the Blue Power Ranger, as a positive, capable champion of good. Now in its second year, AutFest Film Festival celebrates World Autism Awareness month and is dedicated to promoting films and television programs that spotlight autism awareness and that have the power to enhance the lives of the autistic community.

DETAILS:

The second Annual AutFest International Film Festival, presented by The Autism Society, will take place Saturday, April 28 - Sunday, April 29 at the Writers Guild of America Theater in Beverly Hills, California. It will screen six feature-length films, seven shorts and two television shows that that promote autism awareness and/or are made by filmmakers with autism. In addition, AutFest will honor and feature Q&As with actors and MAKERS behind Netflix's Atypical, ABC's The Good Doctor, The Power Rangers, Please Stand By and autism specialists.

As previously announced Sony Pictures Entertainment will be receiving the Visionary Award presented to JEFF FROST, President of Sony Pictures Television Studios, and Co-Presidents of Sony Pictures Television Chris Parnell and JASON CLODFELTER. THE GOOD DOCTOR andAtypical will be receiving Spotlight Awards, honored for their exceptional portrayal of autism in a positive light to help increase understanding and acceptance of people on the spectrum. Additional Festival awards will be presented to filmmakers at the AutFest Closing Reception on Sunday, April 29 at 7:30 pm.
