Funny lady Amy Poehler spoke to EW.com about her upcoming return engagement as co-host of the GOLDEN GLOBE awards.

Yesterday, NBC announced that Golden Globe winner Tina Fey and Golden Globe nominee Poehler had signed on to host NBC's exclusive coverage of "The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards," which will be broadcast live on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. (PT) and 8-11 p.m. (ET) from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. As part of their deal, Fey and Poehler will also host "The 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards" in 2015.

"Well last year was really fun! We didn't know what to expect. It was exciting to work with Tina, as always, and it was a strange experience," Poehler said. "We had a lot of fun so we said maybe we can try it again and like fools we are giving it another shot. Looking forward to understanding more of how the night goes and what works and what doesn't. In all honesty - just setting the tone for a really fun evening. I think as a host that's your job. Telling some jokes, getting everyone excited and then stay out of everyone's way."

Despite having plenty of time to write material and practice routines for the upcoming show, the talented comedians will not stress over the live broadcast until just before it occurs. "I can't stress enough how little we will prepare until very close to the show. We'll treat it like Weekend Update - its a little SNL style and have to work backwards." she shared. "We get a lot of jokes, write our own, talk bits and we work through them. You can't really do this kind of stuff too early and you can't overthink it."

For the Parks & Rec star, there's no question as to what the best part of last year's show was. "My highlight was sitting on George Clooney's lap," she jokes, adding "But it all felt like a highlight."
