Amphibian Stage Productions announces the cast and creative team for its third main stage play of the 2017 season, The Bible: The Complete Word of God (Abridged) by Adam Long, Reed Martin, and Austin Tichenor. Starring Aaron Fouhey, Brandon Murphy, and Scott Zenreich, the play runs Friday, July 7 through Sunday, August 13 at the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.

An irreverent roller coaster ride through the Good Book, from fig leaves to final judgment, three cultural guerrillas tackle the great theological questions. No one is safe, especially the first row, and everything you thought you knew about the most widely read book in history will be turned upside down.

Brandon Murphy and Scott Zenreich return as two of the original cast members. Brandon Murphy's previous appearances on Amphibian's stage have been in Wittenberg, The Tragic Life and Triumphant Death of Julia Pastrana the Ugliest Woman in the World, and The Nosemaker's Apprentice. He holds a BFA from Boston University and an MFA from SMU and currently serves as an adjunct professor of theatre at the University of North Texas. Scott Zenreich is happy to return to Amphibian where he appeared in The Nosemaker's Apprentice and Daedalus, wrote and directed Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins, and was assistant director for Bank Job and Isaac's Eye. Scott earned a BFA in musical theatre from Emerson College. Aaron Fouhey joins the production as a new cast member. He has performed in New York in Marian, or The True Tale of Robin Hood (Flux Theatre Ensemble), Uncle Vanya (The Pearl Theatre Company), Night of the Living N-Word!!! (FringeNYC) The Seedling Project (Partly Cloudy People), a cautionary tail (The Flea), and Shotz (Amios). Aaron holds a BFA in Acting from Boston University and a Classical Acting Certificate from LAMDA.

"It's a treat to bring back Amphibian's most popular show in our 18-year history. When we produced it in 2013 I wondered how audiences in the Bible Belt would receive it. I learned quickly that it's a perfect fit. As soon as it closed, church groups, long-time Amphibian supporters, and newcomers into our fold were begging us to bring it back. Your prayers are answered, friends! Get ready for The Bible (abridged) 2.0!" said Kathleen Culebro, Artistic Director of Amphibian Stage Productions.

Jay Duffer will return to direct. A Texas native, Duffer spent many years as a professional actor and director living and working in New York City and regionally. He currently resides in Indiana where he is Associate Professor of Theatre and Chair of the Theatre Department at Huntington University. He has directed approximately 50 plays and musicals in the theatre program, most recently being Will Eno's Middletown, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Other Desert Cities by Jon Robin Baitz. Past Amphibian acting credits include Wittenberg, The Nosemaker's Apprentice, The Mystery of Irma Vep and the workshop production of David Davalos' Daedalus, now under the name A Lost Leonardo, which will premiere at Amphibian in October. The Bible also features scenic design by Seancolin Hankins, lighting design by Kenneth Farnsworth, sound design by David Lanza, props design by Stefany Cambra, and costume design by Brittny Mahan.
