Rumors of Adele's impending return have began to emerge.

Multiple sources are claiming that the Grammy winner may take the stage at the upcoming 85th Academy Awards, set to air Feb. 23. Following the announcement that the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise will be celebrated that night - and that the singer recorded the theme song for the lastest installment SKYFALL - she may become part of the tribute.

It also doesn't hurt that her song SKYFALL is reportedly on the short list for a 'Best Original Song' nod. Nominations will be announced on Jan. 10 - and should the 007 theme be honored, it would seem the chance of an Adele appearance would become only more likely.

Adele has recently been out of the spotlight for the good part of a year; in June 2012, she announced that she was pregnant with boyfriend Simon Koneck's child. She gave birth to a boy in October.

The success of Adele's albums has earned her numerous records in the Guinness Book of World Records. She became the first artist in history to lead the Billboard 200 concurrently with three Billboard Hot 100 number ones. Adele is also the first female artist to have three singles in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time, and the first female artist to have two albums, "19" and "21" in the top five of the Billboard 200 and two singles in the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously.
