ABC's MISTRESSES Up Week-to-Week in Total Viewers

During the week of August 11, 2014, ABC aired 7 of the Top 20 broadcast programs in Adults 18-49: "20/20: Robin Williams" - No. 8, "Bachelor in Paradise" - No. 9, "Modern Family-WED 9:31PM" - No. 15, "Extreme Weight Loss" and "Modern Family" tied at No. 18, while "The Middle" and "The Goldbergs-WED 8:30PM" tied at No. 20. ABC's "20/20: Robin Williams" also ranked among the Top 10 most-watched TV programs overall (No. 6) and was TV's top-rated Primetime news telecast since May in key Adults (AD18-49/AD25-54) - since 5/2/14 and 5/16/14, respectively.

Summer 2014 (12 Complete Weeks): Despite airing a 5-game NBA Finals this year versus a 7-game series last year, ABC is increasing its overall audience from the same point last summer (+2% - 5.1 million vs. 5.0 million). In addition, ABC ranks No. 1 this summer in Adults 18-49 (1.4/5 - tied w/NBC) and Adults 18-34 (1.1/5).

Monday
"Bachelor in Paradise" (8:00-10:01 p.m. - 5.3 million and 1.5/5 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:01 p.m., "Bachelor in Paradise" made ABC the most-watched TV network in its 2-hour slot (5.3 million) for the 2nd week in a row.

"Bachelor in Paradise" was up from its week-ago debut by 7% in Adults 18-49 (1.5/5 vs. 1.4/5).

ABC's "Bachelor in Paradise" was the No. 1 most social broadcast series Monday night for the 2nd consecutive week (28,200 tweets).

"Mistresses" (10:01-11:00 p.m. - 3.6 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49):
During the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "Mistresses" was up week to week by 3% in Total Viewers (3.6 million vs. 3.5 million) and by 11% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3 vs. 0.9/3), matching a 6-week high in the key adult demo - since 6/30/14. From 10:01-11:00 p.m., "Mistresses" beat CBS' "Under the Dome" in Women 18-34 (1.0/3 vs. 0.8/3) and Women 18-49 (1.6/5 vs. 1.5/4 - first time ever), ranking No. 1 its time period on the latter measure.

Please Note: The prior week's "Mistresses" telecast (8/4/14) jumped by 56% in the Live + 3 Day Adult 18-49 ratings (from a 0.9 rating to a 1.4 rating), tying CBS' "Under the Dome" as the night's biggest broadcast gainer from L+SD to L3.

Tuesday
"Extreme Weight Loss" (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 4.1 million and 1.2/4 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC's "Extreme Weight Loss" was up 8% in Total Viewers (4.1 million vs. 3.8 million) and 9% in Adults 18-49 (1.2/4 vs. 1.1/4) from its most recent telecast two weeks ago, to a season-high in viewers and equal a best-since-premiere number with young adults (since 5/27/14). In fact, the show marked its most-watched telecast since its year-ago season opener in May 2013 - since 5/28/13.

"Extreme Weight Loss" increased its overall (+14%) and young adult (+9%) audiences from the same night last year (3.6 million and a 1.1/4 on 8/13/13).

"20/20: The Life and Death of Robin Williams" (10:00-11:00 p.m.-7.4 million and 1.7/6 in AD18-49):
Building on its lead-in at 10:00 p.m., "20/20: The Life and Death of Robin Williams" was the No. 2 TV show of the night to NBC's "America's Got Talent" among Adults 25-54 (2.4/7).

The "20/20" special, celebrating the life of Robin Williams, delivered ABC's largest non-sports summertime audience in The Hour since May 2013 and its top Adult 25-54 number in over 4 years - since 5/28/13 and 6/1/10, respectively. In addition, it was TV's top-rated Primetime news telecast since May in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 - since 5/2/14 and 5/16/14, respectively.

Wednesday
ABC Wednesday Comedy Block (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 4.0 million and 1.2/4 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC's 2-hour repeat comedy block beat Fox's original "So You Think You Can Dance" by 14% in Total Viewers (4.0 million vs. 3.5 million) and by 20% in Adults 18-49 (1.2/4 vs. 1.0/3). The Net's 2-hour comedy block was up week to week by 9% in Adults 18-49 (1.2/4 vs. 1.1/4) to match a 10-week high - since 6/4/14.

"Motive" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.7 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49): In the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Motive" grew for the 2nd straight telecast among Adults 25-54 (+10% - 1.1/3 vs. 1.0/3) and held steady in Total Viewers (3.7 million) Adults 18-49 (0.7/2).

Thursday
"Rookie Blue" (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 4.6 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):
At 9:00 p.m., ABC's "Rookie Blue" was up week to week in Adults 18-49 (+13% - 0.9/31.0/3 vs. 0.8/2) and Adults 18-34 (+75% - 0.7/3 vs. 0.4/2), drawing a best-since-premiere number on the latter measure - since 6/19/14. Opposite its drama competition in the hour, "Rookie Blue" dominated Fox's season finale of "Gang Related" (2.4 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49) in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

"NY Med" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 5.0 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):
At 10:00 p.m., ABC's season finale of "NY Med" was up 8% in Adults 25-54 (1.3/4 vs. 1.2/4).

On average during its 2nd-season run, "NY Med" was up a strong 25% in Total Viewers (6.0 million vs. 4.8 million) over its first season two years ago. In addition, the show grew 14% in Total Viewers over its first season finale (4.4 million on 8/22/12).

Friday
"20/20" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.8 million and 1.0/4 in AD18-49):
ABC's "20/20" was week to week by 11% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/4 vs. 0.9/3) and 8% in Adults 25-54 (1.4/4 vs. 1.3/4). The ABC newsmagazine grew over its year-ago telecast (3.4 million, 0.9/3 and 1.2/3, respectively, on 8/16/13) by double-digit margins in Total Viewers (+12%) and both key Adult demos: Adults 18-49 (+11%), Adults 25-54 (+17%). From a disease that makes you feel and act drunk, to being allergic to noise, "20/20" reported on strange afflictions that can be debilitating.

Sunday
"Rising Star" (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 3.2 million and 0.8/2 in AD18-49):
Opposite increased competition from Fox's NFL coverage from 9:00-10:00 p.m., ABC's "Rising Star" was up 14% week to week in Adults 18-49 (0.8/2 vs. 0.7/2).
