GREATEST HITS (9:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.6 million and 0.9/4 in AD18-49): Building on its lead-in at 9:00 p.m., ABC's 2-hour season finale of "Greatest Hits" shot up week to week by 50% in Total Viewers (3.6 million vs. 2.4 million) and by 50% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/4 vs. 0.6/2), equaling a best-since-debut number with young adults - since 6/30/16.
On average during its 6-week run, "Greatest Hits" improved its time period for ABC by double digits in Total Viewers (+16% - 3.6 million vs. 3.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (+29% - 0.9/3 vs. 0.7/3) over the Net's Live + Same Day averages in the slot during the comparable weeks last summer with "Mistresses." Projections Rationale: Lifts vs. L+SD are based on 2015-16 season averages for originals (excluding the premiere).Returning shows: Profile based on same show (either premiere or averages for originals).
New Series: Based on similar series. A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate Nielsen measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
