ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA Poised to Win November 2012 Sweep

ABC News' GOOD MORNING AMERICA is poised to win the 2012 November sweep in both Total Viewers (5.348 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.034 million), with only 3 days left to be counted for the month, according to Nielsen Media Research. In ranking No. 1 for the month in Adults 25-54, "GMA" is taking the top spot during any sweeps in the key adult news demo for the first time in more than 18 years – since July 1994.  In addition, "GMA" is leading the November sweep in Total Viewers for the first time in 17 years – since November 1995.

For the week of November 12, 2012, "Good Morning America" ranked No. 1, in both Total Viewers (5.329 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.006 million), respectively, according to Nielsen Media Research.  "GMA" has stood as the morning's No. 1 newscast in Total Viewers for the 8th time in 8 weeks this season and in 7 of 8 weeks in the key adult news demo.

"GMA" outdelivered NBC's "Today" (4.810 million and 1.969 million, respectively) during the week by +519,000 Total Viewers and by +37,000 Adults 25-54.   On Thursday (11/15/12), "GMA" aired the No. 1 morning telecast of the week in both Total Viewers (5.538 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.173 million).    

For the 3rd straight week, "GMA" improved year to year in both Total Viewers (+8%) and Adults 25-54 (+4%) – 4.936 million and 1.920 million, respectively, on w/o 11/14/11.  In fact, the ABC program stood as the only morning newscast to build on the same week last year in both measures, as "CBS This Morning" was mixed (+3%/-6%), while NBC's "Today Show" tumbled by double digits (-14%/-20%).

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54.  In fact, "GMA" is leading "Today" by its largest season margin in overall viewers (+542,000) in more than 21 years, and in the key adult news demo (+142,000) in 21 years – since at least the 1991-92 season and the 1991-92 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date "GMA" is up in both Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%) versus its year-ago averages, growing the most year to year in the key adult news demo (NBC's "Today" is down -15%/-24%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is mixed +4%/-3%, respectively).  "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 7 years and best Adults 25-54 performance in 5 years – since the 2005-06 and 2007-08 seasons, respectively.

"GMA" doubled the performance of "CBS This Morning" in both Total Viewers (+100%) and Adults 25-54 (+100%).  In addition, "GMA" turned in its largest Total Viewer advantage over the CBS program (+2.659 million) of the season.
