ABC News' NIGHTLINE Ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers for the Week of July 2

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.127 million) during the week of July 2, 2018, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" led CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden-JC-ENC" (1.050 million) by 77,000 and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers-SM" (997,000) by 150,000.

"Nightline" improved on the year-ago week (w/o 7/3/17) in Total Viewers (+1% - 1.127 million vs. 1.120 million) and Adults 18-49 (+7% - 293,000 vs. 275,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" is beating CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in Adults 25-54 (+31,000 - 503,000 vs. 472,000) and Adults 18-49 (+33,000 - 382,000 vs. 349,000).

Stories on "Nightline" last week included the race to rescue a boys soccer team and their coach trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand, a candid interview with comedian Kathy Griffin one year after her fall from grace, a visit to Staten Island with pop star Bebe Rexha and an inside look at Police Chief Laura Frizzo's mission to track down a suspected female serial killer.

NOTE: Due to the July Fourth holiday week, "Nightline" and "The Late Late Show with James Corden" were coded specials on Wednesday (7/4/18). Each telecast was excluded from the averages. In addition, CBS' "The Late Late Show" was retitled from Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday, while NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers-SM." The weekly averages for ABC and CBS are based on four days (Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday).
