Acorn Media Group this week announced it is significantly expanding Acorn TV, its online streaming service, to meet the demand of subscribers looking for more British television classics and contemporary titles. Now Anglophiles will be able to choose from a full season of 10 critically acclaimed British series at any given time to watch online.

Acorn TV (acornonline.com/TV) was launched in July 2011, to serve as the first streaming service that curates the best of British television for American audiences, making award-winning mysteries and dramas available online, some for the first time ever. Since launch, Acorn TV has featured popular fan favorites such as Upstairs Downstairs, Doc Martin and Midsomer Murders to star-studded titles such as Colin Firth's Lost Empires, Jeremy Irons' Brideshead Revisited and Brenda Blethyn's Vera.

"With Acorn TV we have been able to successfully tap into a very passionate fan base clearly hungry for an online destination where they can find their favorite British shows, whether new or old," said Miguel Penella, CEO of Acorn Media Group. "We are already ahead of our initial projections and are expanding the offering in response to subscriber demand."

Acorn TV now offers a full season of 10 different series, with the first episode of each season featured online for free. For only $24.99 a year, Acorn Premium subscribers get unlimited access to all of the episodes in each selected season. In addition, Premium members receive free shipping on all orders from Acorn's distinctive merchandise catalog and website, www.AcornOnline.com.

Programming for Acorn TV is refreshed weekly, with each season available for five weeks. There are 10 seasons and more than 60 hours of programming offered at any given time. Each week content will rotate with two new seasons added. As Acorn TV continues to expand, the programming offering will evolve based on audience preferences.

Acorn TV is accessible on computers, iPhones, iPads, Apple TV and Google TV. It is also available on any portable device with a browser that runs Flash 10 or higher, with additional devices and applications to be offered within the next year.
