SAN DIEGO, CA - Mizu is teaming up with a host of action sports brands including Volcom, Poler, Nixon, Electric, Burton and CAPiTA to launch a new line of stainless steel water bottles in support of their mission to change the way people drink water. The Agenda Show is currently taking place from July 25-26, 2013 at the Long Beach Convention Center. Mizu CEO Tim Pogue, Mizu Founder Jussi Oksanen and the entire #mizulife team are on-hand at booths A10 and E29 to discuss the company's mission to eliminate single-use plastic bottles and "protect the places where we play."
Mizu is committed to finding viable solutions to the problems surrounding single-use plastic water bottles. Replacing the disposable bottles with a reusable solution was the first step to changing the way people drink water. Now the Mizu team is focusing on the need for clean, filtered water, and will be demonstrating their solution to this problem at the Agenda Show, says Pogue. "There is not always a source for great tasting, clean, cold, filtered water, so we got to work on solutions. The Mizu Water Bar at Agenda and the Mobile Mizu Water Bar are just the first two steps toward a full line up of solutions coming from Mizu."
In addition to providing a reliable source for clean water, Mizu and the action sports brands will be donating 1% of the proceeds from the new line of water bottles to nonprofits committed to providing clean drinking water and preserving this precious resource. The six brands have chosen to support nonprofits that align with their own commitment to incorporate more sustainable practices into their everyday operations.
In a post on the reusable water bottle company's website titled, "Mizu Water Bottle Giveaway and New Collab Bottles," Mizu explains how the idea for bottle design collaborations came about, and how every bottle purchased is a much needed step toward reducing the consumption of single-use plastic water bottles. "Our goal is to provide our customers with the voice and tools needed to curb this single-use plastic water bottle crisis. Our mission is straightforward: change the way people drink water."
Single-use plastic bottles can last up to 700 years in landfills. With 80% of the 50 million bottles consumed annually in the US winding up in landfills, rivers, lakes and oceans, Pogue says the need for a solution is obvious and immediate: "The Mizu stainless steel bottle is a great, healthy, durable option to allow people to stop buying disposable bottles. Now we're joined by some of the best brands in our industry to really help us put a dent into the single-use plastic bottle problem."
Mizu is the original action sports water bottle brand. The company provides reusable, stainless steel water bottles, stainless steel cups and more in an effort to reduce the consumption of single-use plastic bottles and containers. The Mizu family is comprised of like-minded individuals and brands dedicated to protecting the oceans, mountains, and streets their sports depend on. Mizu is committed to protecting where we play.
