As part of an expansion project currently underway at JFK International Airport Terminal 4, a joint venture led by premier travel retailer Hudson Group will be implementing a dynamic new concessions program to enhance the shopping experience for millions of travelers at JFK's Terminal 4. The program includes five new specialty shops featuring fashion icons Michael Kors, Coach, Thomas Pink, Solstice and Victoria's Secret and seven new Hudson travel essentials stores, as well as a Discover New York souvenir shop. The stores will open in three phases between May and October of this year.
Michael Kors is devoted to the stylish leather and fabric handbags and accessories of New York City's own Michael Kors, who has emerged in recent years as one of the most recognized and respected designers in America.
Coach New York features the award winning styles of this iconic American brand, established in 1941. The collection includes classic and colorful handbags, small leather goods and accessories.
Thomas Pink, one of only two airport locations for the brand in the US, features the quality shirts for men and women, ties and accessories that this popular London-based brand is known for around the world.
Victoria's Secret replaces a smaller store that opened in Terminal 4 in 2009, and offers travelers a wide assortment of Victoria's Secret beauty products, fragrances, and branded accessories, including airport exclusive small leather goods, bags and luggage, in a larger and more luxurious setting.
Solstice offers one of the largest selections of designer and sport performance sunglasses in an innovative, upscale environment. Premium brands include Bulgari, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Oakley, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Ray Ban, Versace and many more.
In addition to the specialty retail program, the joint venture will also present two proprietary concepts Discover New York ("the" place to shop for authentic New York-area souvenirs) and Hudson, the latest generation of Hudson News.
Hudson moves beyond the newsstand to offer modern travelers everything they want and need: electronics and media related items, health and beauty aids, healthy snacks and beverages, as well as local and regional merchandise from the New York region. The flagship Hudson store will be located in the hub of the new extension across from the entrance to Delta Air Lines' Sky Club Lounge.
Alain Maca, President of JFKIAT, LLC, the management company for Terminal 4, noted, "One of the key benefits of Terminal 4's redevelopment for the passengers is the shift to a post-security selling environment, so that passengers can shop at their leisure. Hudson's team has worked closely with our group to deliver a world-class program that will appeal to our diverse passenger mix."
Hudson Group President and CEO Joe DiDomizio is greatly impressed with the quality of the T4 development. "Hudson first became part of the terminal's concession program shortly after the opening of the new Terminal 4 back in 2001," he said, "and I am grateful to JFKIAT's management for having the confidence in Hudson to allow us to play a major role in this dynamic project. We are delighted that we have been entrusted with delivering upscale brands along with our new Hudson concept. The new program expands the total number of stores we operate in Terminal 4 from 10 to 14."
For this project, Hudson has partnered with JME Group LLC, an Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) firm.
