The AMERICAN IDOL season finale aired on May 24 at 8:00 pm/ET on the FOX network.

Earlier this month on 'American Idol' pint-sized powerhouse Sanchez wowed the judges with her performance of 'And I'm Telling You,' but they weren't the only ones who were impressed. Holliday wrote on her Twitter page immediately following the performance: 'Yes, I was at home watching when Jessica Sang My Song 2Nite.. My Heart was beating fast &I was overwhelmed! So PROUD!'

Holliday made her Broadway debut in YOUR ARMS TOO SHORT TO BOX WITH GOD at the age of 19. After winning a Tony at the age of 21 for DREAMGIRLS, Holliday performed in GREASE and CHICAGO. She has made a singing career, off Broadway, with eight albums and two Grammy awards. Holliday will be once again performing the role of 'Effie', for the final time this summer in a highly anticipated run of DREAMGIRLS at The Muny.
