World Projects Presents Young People's Symphony Orchestra PNW Tour

World Projects presents the Young People's Symphony Orchestra (California) in Seattle, Victoria and Vancouver.

The PNW Tour kicks off June 17 in Seattle, where the orchestra is joined by special guests, the West Seattle Community Orchestra. The 90+ musicians of the YPSO (aged 12 - 20) travel next to British Columbia's capital city, Victoria, for a concert June 19. They then sail to Vancouver for a concert on June 22, and a final concert, with special guests the Magee Strings Orchestra, on June 23. Full details of each concert are available at https://www.facebook.com/pg/wpmusictours/events/?ref=page_internal

Founded in 1936 in Berkeley, California, YPSO is the oldest independent youth orchestra in California, and the second oldest in the nation. For more than 80 years, YPSO has developed the musical talents and skills of myriad students representing 28 cities and 6 counties in the San Francisco Bay Area.

With a mission to guide young musicians to achieve excellence within an orchestral setting, YPSO provides an educational environment that fosters accomplishment, serves as a cultural resource for the community, and builds future audiences by instilling a passion for music. Young people are encouraged to become exemplary musicians, and young musicians to become exemplary people. Today, many YPSO alumni are internationally distinguished musicians and prominent community members.

Mr. David Ramadanoff is currently in his 30th season as Music Director/Conductor with the orchestra. He leads a team of master teachers who provide weekly specialized sectional coaching. Because of YPSO's intensive coaching and Mr. Ramadanoff's background in orchestra building, the YPSO has a reputation as an outstanding youth ensemble throughout California and beyond: YPSO has performed in world-class venues such as New York's Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and the Dvorak Hall of the Rudolfinum, in Prague, Czech Republic.
