The Midtown Men to Film 5/28 NJPAC Concert for NJTV

NJTV, New Jersey's public television network, will host its first major benefit event at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on Wednesday, May 28, at 6pm. The highlight of the evening will be a performance by The Midtown Men, 4 stars from the Original Broadway Cast of the smash hit Jersey Boys.

The Midtown Men's performance at the majestic Prudential Hall will be taped as a concert special for public television. The 90-minute show, recorded in high-definition, will be offered to public television stations to broadcast nationwide. The concert special will air in the NY metropolitan area starting in December.

"The Midtown Men are a perfect match for public television," said NJTV General Manager John Servidio. "We're excited to give their performance a life beyond the NJTV Benefit to entertain audiences across the country."

The video will be directed by Pierre and François Lamoureux, whose productions have earned a multitude of awards including a Grammy and two Emmys. They've created public TV specials for Harry Connick, Jr., Judy Collins, Clay Aiken,The Pretenders, Zappa Play Zappa and Nikki Yanofsky, among others. They are also the directors of the Front and Center series currently airing on PBS.

After taking Broadway by storm in one of the biggest hits of all time, these Original Jersey Boys Cast members created TheMidtown Men, the only musical group ever formed by stars from a hit Broadway show.

Tony Award-winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and Tony Award nominee J. Robert Spencer, known for their lively versions of the greatest pop songs of the '60s, have performed well over 300 concerts across the continent. They're currently on their fourth national tour which features 26 major symphony performances including Nashville, Minneapolis, Denver, Washington DC and a recent engagement with the Philly Pops that broke all previous attendance records.

Last season, The Midtown Men performed on Good Morning, America, Access Hollywood, ABC's Katie, The Chew, and sang in front of 25,000 people at the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the White House.

The group is known for their strong relationships with some of the biggest names in '60s music including Sirius/XM star "Cousin Brucie" Morrow, The Rascals, Bill Medley, Shirley Alston Reeves and Tommy James.

Most notably, they collaborated with music and show business icon Steven Van Zandt and members of Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band on a hit Christmas single, "All Alone On Christmas," and were invited to perform at a NYC benefit alongside music legends Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Dion, Tom Morello, and Darlene Love.
