The Kennedy Center presents four-time Grammy Award-winning singer Roberta Flack on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 8 p.m. in the Concert Hall. The iconic artist returns to the Center following her 2012 appearance in a program with the NSO Pops and its Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke.

Tickets start at $49 and go on sale to Kennedy Center Members on Monday, September 26, 2016 and to the general public on Monday, November 14, 2016.

Flack has long been known as an unparalleled musician who effortlessly inhabits the worlds of pop, soul, R&B, jazz, and folk. In a career that spans more than four decades, she is best known for her 1972 hit and very first recording, "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," which was hand-picked by Clint Eastwood as the theme song for his directorial debut in Play Misty for Me and landed the #1 spot across all music charts in the United States. Her other chart-topping singles include "Killing Me Softly with His Song" (1973) and "Feel Like Makin' Love" (1974), as well as two duets with legendary jazz singer and frequent collaborator Donny Hathaway, "Where Is the Love" (1972) and "The Closer I Get to You (1978).

During the 1980s and 1990s, Flack remained active as a recording artist and live performer with projects including: composing and producing the soundtrack for the 1980 film, Bustin' Loose; collaborating with R&B and soul singer-songwriter Peabo Bryson on the 1983 album Born to Love, which produced the smash hit "Tonight I Celebrate My Love"; releasing the #1 R&B single, "Oasis," and an album by the same title in 1988; and hosting her own weekly radio show from 1995 to 1998, Brunch with Roberta Flack, which aired nationwide in more than 30 major metropolitan markets. Additionally, she was selected to receive a coveted star on Hollywood's legendary Walk of Fame in June of 1999.

Since the turn of the millennium, Flack has continued to tour nationally and internationally with appearances in Turkey, Argentina, Australia, and Japan. In 2002, she released the DVD Roberta Flack in Concert; took part in Nile Rogers's movie and single, We Are Family; and participated in the nationwide "Come Back to D.C." television campaign, a joint collaboration between the Federal Government and the D.C. Tourism Board. Her most recent release was her 2003 Christmas album, Holiday, a timeless collection of seasonal favorites.
