This fall, The Frick Collection presents its 79th season of classical music concerts.

Debuting in 1938 - just three years after the museum opened to the public - the Frick's concert series is one of the most celebrated in New York and has delighted tens of thousands of visitors over the years with a wide range of world-class performances by soloists, chamber music groups, and early music ensembles. Throughout its distinguished history, the concert series has been recognized for the special niche it fills in the highly competitive and rich world of music performance in New York.

The 2017-18 series will showcase exceptional musical talent from around the world. Among the most anticipated programs this season are The New York debuts of the French Van Kuijk Quartet, current BBC New Generation Artists; the acclaimed baroque ensemble Forma Antiqva, from Spain, with countertenor Carlos Mena; and Russian pianist Lukas Geniušas. Other highlights include a performance by Camerata RCO, comprised of eight members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and a recital by Metropolitan Opera star and mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford.

The Frick concert series also has a long history of reaching audiences far beyond those present for its live performances. Since 1939, the concerts have been rebroadcast on the Municipal Broadcasting System, American Public Radio, and WNYC Radio. This summer, on a series of Monday nights at 10:00 p.m., programs from the 2016-17 season are airing on WQXR/National Public Radio (105.9). These concerts from recent years are available on the station's Web site, wqxr.org/frick, for up to two years. In addition, eight concerts from this past season were broadcast on BBC Radio 3 in the United Kingdom. For complete program information and to purchase tickets, visit frick.org/programs/concerts.
