The Quin, New York's quintessential lifestyle hotel, will inaugurate the Quin Music Series tonight, October 7th at 7:00pm with a special performance by VINX.

One of the most gifted improvisational vocalists performing today, VINX' style ranges from jazz to funk, and from bossa nova to blues, as he takes his audience on a sonic world tour. He combines soaring vocals layered with intricate melodies and grooves in the spirit of a true balladeer. Envisioned as "an evening of storytelling through song," VINX is scheduled to perform from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Quin Arts Sound Lounge at lobby level. He will be joined by Scott Kiefner on upright bass and Brad Myrick on guitar.

Born Vincent De'Jon Parette, VINX has recorded and toured with some of the music industry's greatest icons, including: Stevie Wonder, Sting, Herbie Hancock, Sheryl Crow, Branford Marsalis, Ernie Watts, Taj Mahal, Ricki Lee Jones, Darius Rucker, Vance Gilbert, Cassandra Wilson, Brenda Russell, Cher and numerous others. He arrives at the Quin fresh from his "American Crooner" Tour, in which he interpreted some of his favorite standards evoking the days when low-toned baritones ruled the night, as well performing original compositions that paid homage to the genre.

VINX is also a songwriter, with songwriting credits for performers ranging from Tom Jones and Will Downing to The Lion King and Sprite. He teaches, as well, at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Dreamsicle Arts & Entertainment Group is home to his production company and acclaimed workshop series.

The General Manager of the Quin, Holly Breuche, commented, "To be surprised and inspired by a musical performance, to discover something truly unexpected that's a quintessential New York moment. Those are the type of unique moments we're looking to provide for our guests with the launch of the Quin Music Series. The Quin has served as a home away from home for many of the world's great musicians and we're so pleased to add VINX to this list."

The Quin Music Series is an extension of the Quin Arts program, which has already brought a cutting-edge roster of artists and performers to the Quin, ranging from acclaimed street-artists and renowned photographers, to internationally famous violin soloists. The Quin is located at 57th Street and Sixth Avenue. The Quin Arts Sound Lounge is powered by Mode:Green and features a Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
