We all know that to be a Broadway performer, an artist has to be a triple-threat, but often, these performer have talents and passions outside of the musical theatre as well. Check out some of our favorite performances from The Ensemblist's PodFest guests, and some of our other favorite Broadway singer/songwriters.

John Arthur Greene
"Easy"

Greene has appeared on Broadway in WEST SIDE STORY and MATILDA, and was featured on the final season of AMERICAN IDOL. Green recently released a new single, "Easy." In December he performed the second verse at the end of a live show.

Douglas Lyons of Lyons and Pakchar
"The 1st Song of Summer"

Lyons is currently a member of the Broadway company for BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL, having also appeared in THE BOOK OF MORMON in New York and on the road. It was as a part of the show's "Latter Day" tour that Lyons met Ethan Pakchar, who was playing guitar in the show's pit; the two quickly became song writing partners. Here is Lyons performing one of their tunes "The 1st Song of Summer."

Michael Cerveris of Loose Cattle
"Tenth Grade"

Everyone knows that Michael Cerveris is the Tony-winning star of FUN HOME, TOMMY, ASSASSINS, SWEENEY TODD, EVITA, and many other shows, but he is also a member of the band Loose Cattle. Here is Cerveris and the band singing "Tenth Grade."

Lena Hall of The Deafening
"Rock n Roll Show
"

Before Lena Hall won a Tony for playing, she was the lead singer of New York's heavy metal band The Deafening. In fact, it wasn't until she took on the role of Yitzhak in the Broadway production of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH that she adopted her rock 'n' roll name full-time. Throughout her theatre career, she had gone by her given name Celina Carvajal, but "Lena Hall" just sounded more hardocre.

Billy Magnussen of Reserved For Rondee
"To Brooklyn (Live Acoustic)"

In addition to earning a Tony nomination for VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, starring in the big screen INTO THE WOODS, and playing Kato Kaelin in AMERICAN CRIME STORY: THE PEOPLE VS. O.J. SIMPSON, Magnussen is also a member of the band Reserved for Rondee. Here they are in 2013 playing an acoustic version of their song "To Brooklyn."

Steve Kazee of The Shiny Liars
"Another Me"

Not only did Kazee win a Tony for playing the singer/songwriter Guy in the original Broadway production of ONCE, he is also a singer/songwriter himself. While you can catch him on TV more often lately (LEGENDS, SHAMELESS, NASHVILLE), usually singing, he was once on of the lead singers for the band The Shiny Liars. Here they are singing a song Kazee wrote, "Another Me."
