Leon Majcen Shares New Single "HONEYBEE" Ahead of New Album

Leon Majcen has shared a new single from his highly anticipated new album, 'The Leaving Kind.' Produced by Pat Lyons (Colter Wall, Sam Barber) and engineered by Sean Sullivan (Sturgill Simpson, Old Crow Medicine Show), Majcen's fifth full-length will be released September 4 on Cloverdale Records. New single 'Honeybee' saunters with warm Southern swagger, the metallic resonance of a dobro and shimmering, saloon-esque piano-playing perfectly complementing Majcen's rasp.
Majcen shares: 'This song's about seeing how close you can get to the sun before your wings melt. It's about seeing how much honey you can steal from the hive before you get stung. Cheers to pushing your luck and getting too close to the fire.'
The single comes amidst what Rolling Stone has declared 'the middle of a major career rise' for Majcen, who has been touring unrelentingly for half a decade. This year alone, he's shared stages with Evan Honer, Benjamin Tod, and Lost Dog Street Band among extensive headline touring, including a key slot at Willie Nelson's Luck Reunion. He is currently on tour in Europe and the UK, and later this year, will support Briscoe and Paul Cauthen. Dates are detailed below.
Majcen's new album is heavily inspired by all that movement. 'This music thing requires life to move a lot more quickly than it should, and racking up fifty thousand miles a year can take its toll,' Majcen shares. 'But I wouldn't trade the chance for anything.' The son of Bosnian refugees, Majcen may gravitate toward an open road by instinct. But his childhood in Safety Harbor, Florida also instilled in him the power of a stabilizing base. 'Growing up as an immigrant, my whole life, I've watched my parents work jobs they hated,' says Majcen. 'I think it's why they always pushed me to chase my dreams. Getting to a position where I can help my family out has always been a big motivator.'
Majcen moved to Nashville in 2023, and signed with Evan Honer's Cloverdale Records. His prolific output—four albums in five years—has gathered continuous acclaim, propelled him onto major tours with Margo Price, American Aquarium, Turnpike Troubadours and Trampled by Turtles, and landed him on Holler. Magazine's list of 20 Best New Country and Americana Artists for 2026.
Today's release follows recent single 'Don't You Cry,' an ode to getting where you're going, and an epitaph for the exits missed along the way, praised by The Bluegrass Situation for 'a plodding, marching beat and gritty acoustic guitar picking... it's a tender song despite the patina on Macjen's voice and the melancholic vibe.'
