Grace Cummings to Release New Album 'Bloodhorse!' This Summer
The new album was recorded in Topanga Canyon, California with GRAMMY-nominated producer Jonathan Wilson.
Singer-songwriter Grace Cummings has set the release of her new album, Bloodhorse!, arriving August 14th from ATO Records. Ahead of its release, she has shared the album's first single, "My God."
Bloodhorse! is the fourth album from Cummings, following 2024's Ramona. Like its predecessor, the new record was recorded in Topanga Canyon, California with GRAMMY-nominated producer Jonathan Wilson.
“My God” arrives with a video by director Ben Portnoy, seen below. The song itself is a piano track, recorded while Cummings was suffering from pneumonia. “Lyrically, this song is about hatred, jealousy, rage. The God here is the dark forces that are wrapping around us, that we scroll through, the toxic energy that binds us together in this modern world, and the fear we feed it every day”, explains Cummings.
With Bloodhorse!, Cummings aims to take the listener on a journey through her anxieties, confessionals, hopes, and nightmares. “In the past few years I’ve gone through one of the biggest personal changes of my life,” says Cummings. “Bloodhorse! is an attempt to express the things I can't say. A confession, an act of courage. For no one else but me. And it’s me deciding to represent, not necessarily the way life is, but the way it feels.”
