On Monday, July 10, The Monster Energy Up & Up Festival issued a call-to-action to students at all colleges in the U.S. with an opportunity to compete for a concert with multi-platinum producer Alan Walker. "We're bringing Alan Walker to the four colleges who pre-purchase the most tickets in 48 hours," says Up & Up Festival Co-Creator, Steven Ljubicic. "We cover the major cost expenditures for the schools who most demand him-talent fees, riders, production and security costs. How's that for a value proposition!? Colleges are usually paying a premium for internationally known artists to perform at their college town."

Alan Walker is exploding. He recently performed with Justin Bieber during the Purpose Tour. Walker was handpicked to tour with Rihanna and has performed massive sets at some of the largest electronic festivals in the U.S. this year, including EDC, Ultra and Paradiso. "This is a real treat for college students to see an international artist who's not on the typical college-round-about-take," says Up & Up Festival Co-Creator, Steven Ljubicic.

"I'm looking forward to performing on the The Monster Energy Up & Up Festival this year," says Alan Walker. "I really like the concept behind it, and it's going to be fun to follow the contest and see the engagement from students who want to bring the show to their campus. Excited to see who will end up on top!"

College students can sign up now, at the newly launched www.upandupfestival.com website. The official contest starts on September 12th, 2017 @ 4:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. PT. The contest will last 48 hours. The authorizations for all credit cards of non-winning schools are immediately released as soon as the four winning schools are announced.
Students from some of the largest and most engaged student bodies have already signed up to compete including: University of Arizona, University of Florida, University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, UMASS Amherst, as well as last year's winner, Washington State University.
The Monster Energy Up & Up Festival is much more than a college show promoter. In addition to offering fun prizes, the festival is a springboard to those seeking to break into the entertainment industry whether it's paid marketing internships in their Los Angeles office or connections to jobs in entertainment from their industry partners. In fact, the festival has hired Shay Dingfelder-now entering his senior year at Washington State University--as a content creator. "After making the recap video for the 2016 Up & Up Festival, the GM hired me as a content creator and has given me the opportunity to have my videos used on social media by a Fortune 500 company," explains Shay. "This has been the opportunity of a lifetime and I can attribute my future success in the industry to the experiences I've had at the first Up & Up Festival. Likewise, Austin Whittendale--also entering his senior year at Washington State University--statesof last year's experience "I honestly didn't think we would win. It was prideful to be like, wow, we made this happen and we're in charge of this concert."
