Marinas Menu & Lifestyle: BLUE RIBBON CLASSICS and Ice Cream Data

Now that summer is officially here, we can really start indulging in one of our favorite treats, ice cream. To help us best celebrate the season, ice cream brand Blue Ribbon Classics took a look at ice cream sales data from 2017 to determine America's favorite flavor.

America feels very strongly about one particular ice cream flavor, Vanilla. 45 out of the 50 states have vanilla as their top seller. That's an incredible 90%. The outliers were Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas with a preferred flavor combination of side-by-side chocolate & vanilla, and Louisiana standing strong with Butter Pecan.

Our readers might like to know that it was Thomas Jefferson who first introduced vanilla ice cream to the U.S. after he experienced the flavor overseas in France. Jefferson wrote his own recipe for it in the 1780's.

So, when you're checking out all of those artisanal flavors of ice cream, think of all your fellow Americans that like to keep it plain and simple with good old fashioned vanilla!
