Review: STRIP HOUSE in Midtown for an Excellent Dining Experience

We so enjoy our lunches and dinners at Strip House in Midtown Manhattan. This charming boutique steak house is very convenient to the theatre district and offers the finest food and drink in a refined, yet comfortable atmosphere. The gracious, friendly staff makes you feel like a special guest from the moment you step in the door.

Strip House has created a menu that includes top steakhouse fare along with exciting menu items you can't find anywhere else. From soups, salads, appetizers and their raw bar to fine meats, seafood, and inventive sides, there's something for everyone's tastes.

We stopped by on a Tuesday night for dinner. A wonderful starter is the Littleneck Clams Casino, one of the best clam dishes in the city. The subtle flavors of smoked bacon, charred jalapeno and burnt lime complement the freshest clams. We also ordered a special off-menu item, "The NO LTO Craft Burger." NO LTO refers to the fact that this delicious burger doesn't have any lettuce, tomato or onions. Rather, the chargrilled Wagyu beef burger is topped with smoked Gouda cheese, yuzu pickles, and Bonito flakes aioli. It is served on Texas Toast with a side of perfectly prepared pommes frites and sriracha catsup. It's a burger that will keep you coming back.

Strip House's presents an outstanding beverage menu that makes pairing wine, beer, or cocktails with your meal a pleasure. We had a few of their artisanal cocktails to sip with our burgers. The "Hibiscus Julep" is a refreshing blend of Old Forester 86, hibiscus, Becherovka and mint. The "Rum Raisin Old Fashion" is a great twist on a classic drink with Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, golden raisin and orange bitters.

The restaurant's award-winning wine list curated by the Wine & Spirits Manager, John Drewniany is a true standout in the city. It recently received Wine Spectator's "Best Of Award of Excellence."

Don't leave without having dessert. We indulged in a piece of the Strip House Signature 24 Layer Chocolate Cake. This rich, satisfying dessert is a chocolate lover's dream. For those that prefer, there are other selections like homemade sorbets and ice creams, Banana Foster Bread Pudding, and NY Cheesecake.
