Aileen Passloff, dancer/choreographer/teacher and inspiration to generations of dancers, has passed away Tuesday, November 3rd, at 10:45 PM after a brave five-year battle with breast cancer. Arthur Aviles and Charlotte Hendrickson, two of Aileen's longtime friends and company members, were with her when she died.

Over the course of a day, the poem and its protagonist follow a metaphorical river from its source. During 'Evening,' it approaches its fateful debouch with the sea in this mosaic of poetry, dance, art and nature.

With this gift – designated to the Pacific Northwest Ballet Foundation – PNB has created a new endowment, the Jane Lang Davis New Works Fund. Annual income from the invested fund will be used in perpetuity to provide support for one new ballet each season, and/or support the full breadth of PNB’s New Works initiative, including workshops for emerging artists.
