As Broadway continues to adapt classic films into musical sensations, too many films are being overlooked: movies that are not already musicals. Before Broadway catches on, Jet City Improv will be offering audiences the chance to get in on the ground floor of the next great movie-turned-musical at the world premier of the original comedy Every Movie Is A Musical.

Every night's performance will feature brand new musical numbers based on movies selected by the audience at the start of the show. From there, a talented team of improv comedians and musicians will give each of the selected movies a brand new musical treatment, be it a love song, the grand finale, or something in-between, across a variety of musical theater styles. Every musical number will be preceded by a brief synopsis of that movie's plot, so you don't need to be a film buff to enjoy the multiple titles (anywhere from six to eighteen) covered during the course of the show.

The cast features some of Seattle's best improvisers and musical theater actors, including creator/director Douglas Willott (Film Court), Kate Jaeger (Village Theater's Les Miserables), Mandy Price (ArtsWest's Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Elicia Wickstead (Blood Squad), Amalia Larson (JCI's The Adventures of Gilbert and Sullivan!), Mike Murphy (JCI's Uncle Mike Ruins Christmas), Joe Koenen (JCI's The Adventures of Gilbert and Sullivan!) and Carl Petrillo (Seattle ComedySportz).

Every Movie Is A Musical runs for a limited engagement, June 5 - 20 on Thursday and Friday nights with a special Opening Night Gala on June 5 featuring a Q & A with the actors followed by complimentary cake and champagne. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 (with ID) for students, seniors, and military personnel and TPS members.
