Pacific Chorale, the resident choir of Segerstrom Center for the Arts, will be taking 100 of the choir's singers to the new Musco Center for the Arts, where they will be performing Mozart's Requiem on Saturday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m. The choir will be accompanied by members of Pacific Symphony. John Alexander, the organization's conductor of 45 years, who is retiring in June, will conduct.

On Tuesday, April 11 at 8:00PM at David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center, the American Classical Orchestra will perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, the composer's towering final achievement. Unique among the seasons' 9th performances, this concert will be performed on period instruments, using the tempos and performance techniques of its premiere nearly 200 years ago. The thrilling textures and nuanced blend of period instruments with the voices of the highly acclaimed ACO Chorus will transport listeners back to the sound world of the early 19th century, while bringing them closer to the composer's intentions and original markings. The result is a deeper, more fulfilling musical experience of this great work. To provide greater understanding, Maestro Thomas Crawford will deliver an introduction, with orchestra and chorus onstage to perform excerpts, before conducting the 70-minute Symphony. This combination of pre-symphony talk and period instrument performance offers rare and meaningful immersion into this much-loved symphony. Soloists are Sherezade Panthaki, Michael Sumuel, Helen Karloski and Kang Wang.

This year marks the beginning of the 80th season for the Canton Symphony Orchestra.  For our 2017-2018 season, we plan to bring concerts full of color and life to the audience.  This season brings back favorite guests of seasons past, and features some of our own musicians soloing with the orchestra.  Some concerts include favorite standards in the classical repertoire, and others expose concert-goers to new music or lesser-known masterpieces for the orchestra.  We hope to see you at our concerts, and maybe even become a subscriber to the Canton Symphony Orchestra!

the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO)  BRAVO! Masterclass features violin virtuoso Philippe Graffin. The masterclass is open to the general public, and will be held at Hamilton House on the campus of Westminster Choir College. Attendees will observe four violin students as they are coached on artistry and performance technique. Kathleen Tagg will accompany participants on the piano. The students are Kristy Chen (West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North), Dallas Noble (homeschooled), Joseph Jojo Prentice (Princeton High School), and Demi Fang (Princeton University). The masterclass is presented in partnership with Westminster Conservatory, the community music school of Westminster College of the Arts of Rider University.

On March 13-22, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra will embark upon its first tour to the United States in more than 35 years.  The RSNO, together with Music Director Peter Oundjian and violinist Nicola Benedetti will perform throughout the state of Florida with stops in Fort Lauderdale (Broward Center), West Palm Beach (Kravis Center), Sarasota (Van Wezel), Vero Beach (Indian River Symphonic Association), Gainesville (University of Florida), Fort Myers (Barbara B. Mann), and Daytona Beach (Peabody Auditorium).

American Opera Projects (AOP) announces the return of its popularComposers & the Voice program for its 2017-19 seasons. Created and led by Composers & the Voice Artistic Director Steven Osgood, eight composers and librettists will be selected for two-year fellowships to learn the fundamentals of writing for the voice and opera stage. Workshop sessions with professional opera singers, mentors, and instructors are held at AOP's home base in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Applications and complete information will be available beginning March 15 atwww.aopopera.org/composers_voice. The deadline for applications is April 28 with fellowships announced by July 1.

The York Symphony Orchestra will present Titanic on Today, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York. It is the third and final Pops performance of the 2016-2017 season.
