Shirley Gale Gives Concert at Christ Church, North Adelaide

A great treat for lovers of pipe organ music will be the recital given by renowned organist and teacher, Shirley Gale, at Christ Church, North Adelaide at 5pm on Saturday 15 October when Shirley will play a selection of some of her favourite works.
Audience members are also invited to join Shirley after the recital for a champagne supper, included in the ticket price.Shirley Gale is currently Organist Emeritus of St. Peters Cathedral, Adelaide where she was Associate Organist from 1984 to 1999, when she was appointed to succeed Dr. David Swale as Principal Organist until 2015. She is the Patron of the St. Peters Cathedral Organ Restoration and the President of the Organ Music Society of Adelaide (OMS) and was previously Chair of the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) for nine years, A graduate of the University of Adelaide in performance, Shirley studied with the late Dr. Harold Wylde and Dr. J.V. Peters and in her early years was awarded prizes and scholarships for piano. Many people may recall hearing Shirley play on radio in their younger years.
