FISH GIRL Opens 6/24 at Brooklyn's Brick Theater

Acclaimed sex columnist, AVN Award nominee, and Bay Area-based sex worker Siouxsie Q presents 'Fish Girl,' which will enjoy its New York premiere and run at Brooklyn's Brick Theater June 24 - 28. The 'sex worker mermaid musical,' created by Q and presented by the Bathtub Theatre Company, will be part of a new summer festival at the Brick, aptly titled 'F*ckfest.'
Annoyance Theatre to Present THREE BUSY DEBRAS and THE SLEEPOVER

The Annoyance Theatre continues its tradition of mounting uncensored stage shows this summer with two original one-act plays Three Busy Debras and The Sleepover. Both plays are entirely written and performed by women. Shows will run consecutive Saturdays starting June 27, 2015 at 8:00 PM.

The Brooklyn Museum presents KAWS: 'ALONG THE WAY,' an exhibition of work by KAWS, the internationally acclaimed Brooklyn-based artist who bridges the gap between art and pop culture in his large-scale sculptures and meticulous, brightly colored paintings. The exhibition, on view today, June 10 through December 6, 2015, will highlight ALONG THE WAY, an 18-foot-high wood sculpture that will occupy a prominent position in the Museum's lobby; it is the first piece by KAWS to be acquired by the Brooklyn Museum.

Comedians and experienced animators Joe Rumrill and Mary Houlihan created Cartoon Monsoon as a throwback to Pee Wee's Playhouse and Lamb Chop's Play-Along, where live-action characters showcase animations. Cartoon Monsoon debuts Today, June 5 at 8:00 PM and runs until June 26.

Free HENRY IV Comes to Brooklyn's Carroll Park This July

On April 25, Council Member Margaret Chin and other local officials joined the South Street Seaport Museum to kick off a new season of programming on the institution's historic vessels. The all-day event drew several thousand visitors to the Seaport and more than doubled active membership for the South Street Seaport Museum. There rarely comes a musical that everyone truly can have nothing bad to say about - one that is saturated with a myriad of different emotions conveyed one minute through upbeat, somewhat goofy songs and the next in a somber ballad between two characters in the midst of falling in love. Especially when it is as beautifully performed by Brooklyn's own Narrows Community Theater, The Wedding Singer is truly so intricate and beautiful in its design, but is so simply a feel-good phenomenon that all should experience.
