Which Side?: A Protest Music Teach-Out at Opera + Community Studios

Which Side?: A Protest Music Teach-Out is a monthly protest music series, sponsored by the ACLU of Massachusetts for its anniversary edition, blending live music with conversation about social justice, resistance, and collective action. Inspired by James Sullivan's book Which Side Are You On?: 20th Century American History in 100 Protest Songs, each 90-minute program combines live performance, commentary, and audience participation. The anniversary concert is hosted by Sullivan and Joyce Linehan, featuring the house band The Paid Protesters backing guest performers including The OG's, Brandie Blaze, The Rubin Brothers, Todd Thibaud, Melissa Ferrick, and Elisa Birdseye. The series is produced by Linehan, Jon Lupfer, and Sullivan, and is presented in partnership with the Boston Lyric Opera.
