The Stunt Man, screening in 35mm at Coolidge Corner Theatre, follows Vietnam vet Cameron (Steve Railsback) who stumbles upon a movie location shoot that has just lost its stunt man under tragic circumstances. Eccentric director Eli Cross (Peter O'Toole) hires Cameron on the spot as a replacement, bypassing the police entirely. The film raises the question of whether Cameron will survive the dictatorial filmmaker's whims or become his next casualty.
