Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater presents Second Act: Stories of Recovery and Resilience, a community-based program created by recovery coach Dana Demers in collaboration with WHAT that harnesses the power of theater to support individuals healing from substance use disorders. This afternoon of storytelling is the culmination of the Second Act program, in which participants work with professional theater artists and certified recovery coaches to craft their recovery journeys into original monologues and short plays. Through sharing these stories publicly, participants aim to reduce stigma, build community, and showcase the role of creativity in recovery. Second Act is funded in part by Opioid Remediation Settlement Funds and coordinated by the Outer Cape Community Solutions Rural Health Network.
