CHUANG Stage presents the East Coast premiere of My Home on the Moon, written by Minna Lee and directed by cara hinh, running May 23 through June 13, 2026 at the Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts. The play follows Mai, who watches her neighborhood gentrify from the windows of her run-down pho restaurant, until a mysterious tech consultant arrives and sets the noodle shop on an unexpected path — pulling her into an adventure involving Vietnamese cuisine, love, and corrupt technology. Blending speculative comedy with themes of displacement, queer identity, and survival, the production features Lee Baladejo, Christina R. Chan, Emma Na-yun Downs, Belle Lê, and Jenny S. Lee. The play originally premiered at San Francisco Playhouse, where it won the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Original Script, and this Boston production includes new revisions by Lee created specifically for the East Coast premiere.
