Coro Allegro, Boston’s LGBTQ+ and allied classical chorus, invites you to a sonic sanctuary—a space to step away from the noise, revel in beauty and wonder, and reflect on what truly matters. IN THE CLEARING features Grammy-winning and internationally performed Kenneth Fuchs’ in the Clearing, exquisite a cappella settings of Robert Frost’s poetry. In the Clearing was the first work Coro Allegro commissioned back in 1995. Fuchs, who studied with some of the greatest names in 20th-century music, Milton Babbitt, David Del Tredici, and Vincent Persichetti, to name a few, teaches composition at the University of Connecticut. Mr. Fuchs is also this year’s recipient of Coro Allegro’s Pinkham Award, which is given annually in recognition of outstanding contributors to classical choral music and the LGBTQ+ communities.
The concert will continue with Mozart’s glorious Vesperae solennes de confessore, K. 339, which includes the wondrous Laudate Dominum. We’re thrilled to feature soloists Dana Varga, soprano, Clare McNamara, Mezzo-Soprano, Jonas Budris, Tenor, and Ron Williams, Baritone.
Free/affordable parking and a reception for all following the concert. 20% discount for seniors/students
