Etchings Festival Day 1 – Ecce Ensemble & King Klavé Trio at The Sanctuary at Look Park

The 17th Etchings Festival opens with Ecce Ensemble and the King Klavé Trio, featuring works by Toshio Hosokawa and newly commissioned pieces by Karalina Coates, Bryan Chiang, Grant Beale, and Alex Van Sant. At the center of the evening is Amaury Acosta's Pepe Suite, a large-scale work blending modern jazz ensemble writing, electronic sound, Afro-Cuban musical traditions, and the rhythmic influence of Chicago footwork culture. The King Klavé Trio is comprised of Amaury Acosta, Mike King, and Morgan Guerin. Ecce Ensemble performs under the direction of composer/conductor Stratis Minakakis, with core members Jordan Hadrill, Robbie Bui, Lily Xie, Barret Ham, and Geoffrey Burleson.
