An evening of live groove music, soulful improvisation, and deep rhythmic traditions featuring three acts: ORDER of SONANCE, a rotating Jazz-Funk collective known for exploratory improvisation and layered rhythmic textures; The ZYG 808 Experience, blending Jazz, Soul, Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, and experimental groove traditions; and the MWALIM Trio featuring Mwalim DaPhunkee Professor on vocals, guitar, and keys, Richard Johnson on bass, and The ZYG 808 on drums. The MWALIM Trio delivers a fusion of Blues, Soul, Jazz, Funk, and underground groove traditions through storytelling, deep improvisation, and emotionally charged musicianship. The event is presented in association with Poly-Groove Records, a New England-based independent label rooted in Soul, Jazz, Funk, Blues, House, and contemporary Black creative traditions.
