The star-studded production of Horton Foote's THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, starring Cicely Tyson in her legendary, Tony Award-winning and Emmy-nominated performance, Tony Award-nominee Vanessa Williams, and Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood, broke box office and attendance records at Boston's Cutler Majestic Theatre with a gross of $1,045,893 for its engagement. The production was seen by 15,294 audience members, also a record for the venue. Additional touring cities are currently under discussion.

The strictly limited, 18-performance engagement, which was produced by Arts Emerson and Jonathan Reinis Productions, played November 20 - December 7.

In its first post-Broadway engagement at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre earlier this fall, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL received extraordinary reviews and ranked as one of the highest-grossing plays in the theatre's history.

THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL is directed by Michael Wilson, the cast includes Cicely Tyson, Vanessa Williams, Blair Underwood, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Devon Abner, Wade Dooley, Arthur French, Pat Bowie, Russell Edge, Dalila Ali Rajah, Keiana Richàrd, Duane Shepard, Sr. and Desean Kevin Terry.

The inspiring American classic, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, tells the story of Carrie Watts, an elderly woman forced to live with her overprotective son and domineering daughter-in-law, who dreams of returning to her small hometown of Bountiful, TX one last time. Her journey becomes a heartbreaking but ultimately life-affirming and inspiring tale that examines the fragility of memory and celebrates the enduring power of hope and faith.

THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL features scenic design by Jeff Cowie, costume design by Van Broughton Ramsey, lighting design by Rui Rita as well as original music and sound design by John Gromada, hair design by Paul Huntley, make-up design by Angelina Avallone, casting by Caparelliotis Casting and Los Angeles casting by Mark B. Simon, CSA.
