Playwright Sarah Ruhl is a Pulitzer Prize nominee and a MacArthur "genius" award winner. Her recent plays, "In the Next Room (or the Vibrator Play)", "Dead Man's Cell Phone" and "Clean House" have made her one the most exciting new playwrights working in theater today. In "Eurydice", Ruhl's humor and gift for lyrical theatricality provide a fresh take on the Greek myth of Orpheus told through the eyes of its heroine. On her wedding day, a mysterious man delivers a letter to Eurydice from her dead father, provoking a journey across the chasm of life and death. The New York Times described Eurydice as "a tenderhearted comedy...a magical play with gripping emotional potency...a love letter to the world..."
