did anyone else find it annoying that about 90% of chess in concert she had her hands in her pockets!!! i felt like the pockets became her crutch. i can maybe understand when she had on pants in the 1st act, but in the 2nd act with that dress! so annoying!!

I think it was a character choice, how she chose to express the physicality of who she was playing. Like how Adam Pascal played his character as gay with hard nipples in a basic white tee.

"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal "I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello

thats fine if it was a character choice, but every scene her hand where in her pockets,! be more orginal. it was to safe. and there were many scenes in the 2nd act were she could not make up her mind to leave her hand in the pockets or out of them.

i didnt feel like adam played his character gay. and adam didnt have a choice in what costume he wore.

I love Idina.

I love CHESS.

I did not love Idina in CHESS re: idina and those d@mn pockets!!!

And Adam did not play Freddy as gay nor did his costume suggest it.

The thing that got me, and I never noticed it before, was that she seems to love swiveling her head and neck around. Sort of like in a "Oh no you diiint" sort of way...but not quite. It always seemed to be when she was trying to sing her lines very earnestly...thinking back on it, she does it in the Rent movie too.

She also only had 4 days of rehearsal for this. I think, considering it was a concert, she was more worried about her lines and the songs. She didn't do the "pocket" thing in any other show I've seen her in. I did notice though. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
