"He found something that he wanted, had always wanted and always would want— not to be admired, as he had feared; not to be loved, as he had made himself believe; but to be necessary to people, to be indispensable."
-F. Scott Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise
I've heard nothing but great things about him! what great news for him and the cast!
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
So that's who I'm seeing on the 17th, I'm very excited.

I'm so so so happy for Javier Munoz! I can only judge by clips because I haven't seen him perform live, but I can tell he's a much gentler Usnavi and just...just...I'm so excited.
I can't wait to head down this summer to watch ITH again!
...but now I'm very curious as to who the next Condom Guy will be, now that Javi's upgraded. (...that character means something special to me.) xD
Javier is my ITH crush! He is STUNNING! I can't wait to see him as Usnavi, though I will be sad to no longer be able to enjoy his incredible dancing during the club scene.
"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."
-Kad
"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."
-bjh2114 (on Michael Riedel)
Congratulations to Javier! I saw him in June, right after the Tony Awards, and he was awesome as Usnavi.
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
LOVED his Usnavi, I was hoping they'd make him full time.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...
"Every day has the potential to be the greatest day of your life." - Lin-Manuel Miranda
"And when Idina Menzel is singing, I'm always slightly worried that her teeth are going to jump out of her mouth and chase me." - Schmerg_the_Impaler
I agree wholeheartedly with everyone. I recall last March when Lin was out I was initially disappointed however once I saw Javier those thoughts were quickly gone.
But, think about it, this is not the last we will see of the talented Mr. Miranda.
Oh no, of course not! I'm looking forward to Lin-Manuel spreading his brilliance to other things xD but all the same, I've only seen Lin perform as Usnavi once, and it was just very adorable. =) I would have liked to have watched it more than once, but oh well.
But like I said though: SO excited for Javi, and can't wait to watch ITH again!
