Or post Broadway song lyrics to say goodbye to the asshat who's on his way out, your choice. Anything you feel is appropriate to the situation.

Jumping the gun by a few hours with this one:

Light the candles,
Get the ice out,
Roll the rug up,
It's today.
Though it may not be anyone's birthday,
And though it's far from the first of the year,
I know that this very minute has history in it, we're here!

It's a time for making merry,
And so I'm for making hay.
Tune the grand up,
Call the cops out,
Strike the band up,
Pull the stops out,
Hallelujah!
It's today!

Everybody look around
'Cause there's a reason to rejoice you see
Everybody come out
And let's commence to singing joyfully
Everybody look up
And feel the hope that we've been waiting for

Everybody's glad
Because our silent fear and dread is gone
Freedom, you see, has got our hearts singing so joyfully
Just look about
You owe it to yourself to check it out
Can't you feel a brand new day?
Can't you feel a brand new day?
Can't you feel a brand new day?
Can't you feel a brand new day?

Everybody be glad
Because the sun is shining just for us
Everybody wake up
Into the morning into happiness

Hello world
It's like a different way of living now
And thank you world
We always knew that we'd be free somehow
In harmony
And show the world that we've got liberty

It's such a change
For us to live so independently
Freedom, you see, has got our hearts singing so joyfully
Just look about
You owe it to yourself to check it out
Can't you feel a brand new day?
Can't you feel a brand new day?

Everybody be glad
Because the sun is shining just for us
Everybody wake up
Into the morning into happiness
Hello world
It's like a different way of living now
And thank you world
We always knew that we'd be free somehow
In harmony
And show the world that we've got liberty

It's such a change
For us to live so independently
Freedom, you see, has got our hearts singing so joyfully
Just look about
You owe it to yourself to check it out
Can't you feel a brand new day?
Can't you feel a brand new day?
Can't you feel a brand new day?
Can't you feel a brand new day?

VALJEAN
One day more!
Another day, another destiny.
This never-ending road to Calvary;
These men who seem to know my crime
Will surely come a second time.
One day more!

MARIUS
I did not live until today.
How can I live when we are parted?

VALJEAN
One day more.

MARIUS & COSETTE
Tomorrow you'll be worlds away
And yet with you, my world has started!

EPONINE
One more day all on my own.

MARIUS & COSETTE
Will we ever meet again?

EPONINE
One more day with him not caring.

MARIUS & COSETTE
I was born to be with you.

EPONINE
What a life I might have known.

MARIUS & COSETTE
And I swear I will be true!

EPONINE
But he never saw me there!

ENJOLRAS
One more day before the storm!

MARIUS
Do I follow where she goes?

ENJOLRAS
At the barricades of freedom.

MARIUS
Shall I join my brothers there?

ENJOLRAS
When our ranks begin to form

MARIUS
Do I stay; and do I dare?

ENJOLRAS
Will you take your place with me?

ALL
The time is now, the day is here

VALJEAN
One day more!

JAVERT
One more day to revolution,
We will nip it in the bud!
I will join these little schoolboys,
They will wet themselves with blood!

VALJEAN
One day more!

M. & MME. THENARDIER
Watch 'em run amuck,
Catch 'em as they fall,
Never know your luck
When there's a free for all,
Here a little `dip'
There a little `touch'
Most of them are goners
So they won't miss much!

Students (2 Groups)
1: One day to a new beginning

2: Raise the flag of freedom high!

1: Every man will be a king

2: Every man will be a king

1: There's a new world for the winning

2: There's a new world to be won

ALL
Do you hear the people sing?

MARIUS
My place is here, I fight with you!

VALJEAN
One day more!

MARIUS & COSETTE
I did not live until today.

EPONINE
One more day all on my own!

MARIUS & COSETTE
How can I live when we are parted?

JAVERT(overlapping)
I will join these people's heros
I will follow where they go
I will learn their little Secrets,
I will know the things they know.

VALJEAN
One day more!

MARIUS & COSETTE
Tomorrow you'll be worlds away

EPONINE
What a life I might have known!

MARIUS & COSETTE
And yet with you my world has started

JAVERT(overlapping)
One more day to revolution
We will nip it in the bud
We'll be ready for these

Schoolboys

THENARDIERS(overlapping)
Watch 'em run amok
Catch 'em as they fall
Never know your luck
When there's a free-for-all!

VALJEAN
Tomorrow we'll be far away,
Tomorrow is the judgement day

ALL
Tomorrow we'll discover
What our God in Heaven has in store!
One more dawn
One more day
One day more!

Are we allowed to post lyrics that fit how we feel, or must they be anti-Bush and pro-Obama?

You're free to post whatever you like, SporkGoddess. Well, as long as you don't piss off the moderators. :)

Freedom ain't a state like Maine or Virginia
Freedom ain't across some county line
Freedom is a flame that burns within ya
Freedom's in the state of mind

(Chorus) Freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom
Freedom is a flame that burns within ya
Freedom's in the state of mind

Freedom ain't a boat that's leaving without ya
Freedom ain't a place ya float to find
Freedom's in the how ya think about ya
Freedom's in the state of mind

(Chorus)

You can't get to freedom by riding on a train
The only way to freedom is right on through your brain

Freedom is a notion sweeping the nation
Freedom is the right of all mankind
Freedom is a body's imagination
Freedom is a state of mind

Freedom, freedom
Freedom, freedom
Freedom is a notion sweeping the nation
Freedom is a body's imagination
Freedom is a full-time occupation
Freedom's in the state of mind

Run, freedom, run!
Freedom, run away!
My friends, you have to run
Run-a, run-a, run
Freedom, run away!

That freedom sun
Will shine someday
'Til then you better run
Run-a, run-a, run
Freedom, run away!

Tiny Tom
I'm frightened!

Bobby
As well you should be. Freedom is scary. It's a blast of cool wind that
burns your face to wake you up.

Tiny Tom
Literally?!

Bobby
Yes.

There's a trickle of sweat -

The Poor
There's a trick of sweat -

Bobby
Drippin' in your ear -

The Poor
Drippin' in your ear -

Bobby
But still, you gotta run
Run-a, run-a, run
Freedom, run away!

The Poor
Ah - run, run away!

Bobby
Now, don't you fret
And never fear!
'Til freedom's

Bobby and the Poor
Won, won-a, won-a, won

Bobby
Freedom, run away!

The Poor
Run, freedom, run!

Bobby
There's a great big Cladwell on your tail!

The Poor
Run, freedom, run!

Bobby
And he's put his henchmen on your trail!

The Poor
Run, freedom, run!

Bobby
I'm simply layin' out the fac's for you
Great big Cladwell's makin' tracks for you
Ain't no time to relax for you -

Bobby and the Poor
Run, freedom, run!

Bobby
Run, freedom, run!

The Poor
Run, freedom, run!
Run, freedom, run!

Bobby
Freedom, run away!

The Poor
Freedom, run away!
Freedom, run away!
My friends, you have to run
Run-a, run-a, run
Freedom, run away!
Freedom, run away -
Freedom, run away -
Freedom, run away!
That freedom sun
That freedom sun
Will shine someday!

Bobby
...Three four...

The Poor
'Til then you better
Run, run-a-freedom run
Run-a, run-a way!

Bobby
Run, freedom, run!
Freedom, run away!
My friends you
Have to run
Run-a, run-a, run
Freedom, run away! The Poor
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!

Ahh...

The Poor
Run, Hallelu!

Bobby
That freedom sun!

The Poor
Freedom sun!

Bobby
Will shine someday!

The Poor
Some sweet day!

Bobby and the Poor
'Til then you better
Run, run-a, run-a, run
Run-a, run-a run!
Hallelujah!

The Poor
Freedom, run!

Bobby
With the wind in your hair
You'll run to freedom's glory!

The Poor
Freedom sun!

Bobby
That freedom sun will shine
All over your freedom story
I said freedom -
I said freedom -
I said freedom, run
Away!

The Poor
Run, freedom, run!
Run, freedom!
Freedom, run away!

This Is The Moment

JEKYLL:
This is the moment!
This is the day,
When I send all my doubts and demons
On their way!

Every endeavor,
I have made - ever -
Is coming into play,
Is here and now - today!

This is the moment,
This is the time,
When the momentum and the moment
Are in rhyme!

Give me this moment -
This precious chance -
I'll gather up my past
And make some sense at last!

This is the moment,
When all I've done -
All the dreaming,
Scheming and screaming,
Become one!

This is the day -
See it sparkle and shine,
When all I've lived for
Becomes mine!

For all these years,
I've faced the world alone,
And now the time has come
To prove to them
I've made it on my own!

This is the moment -
My final test -
Destiny beckoned,
I never reckoned,
Second Best!

I won't look down,
I must not fall!
This is the moment,
The sweetest moment of them all!

This is the moment!
Damn all the odds!
This day, or never,
I'll sit forever
With the gods!

When I look back,
I will always recall,
Moment for moment,
This was the moment,
The greatest moment
Of them all!

Could it be? yes it could
Something's coming, something good
If I can wait!
Something's coming, I don't know what it is
But it is
Gonna be great!

With a click, with a shock,
Phone'll jingle, door'll knock
Open the latch!
Something's coming, don't know when, but it's soon;
Catch the moon,
One handed catch!

Around the corner
Or whistling down the river,
Come on, deliver
To me!
Will it be? Yes it will.
Maybe just by holding still,
It'll be there!

Come on ,something, come on in, don't be shy,
Meet a guy,
Pull up a chair!
The air is humming
And something great is coming!
Who knows?

It's only just out of reach
Down the block, on a beach,
Maybe tonight...

With the promise of happiness
And the freedom he'll live to know.
He'll travel with head held high,
Just as far as his heart can go
And he will ride-
Our son will ride-
On the wheels of a dream.

Oh whoopsies, I forgot to post my lyrics.

Obama's Future Economic Plan:

Can You Use Any Money Today?

"Money, money, money, money, money, money
Can you use any money today?
Money, money, money, money, money, money
Nice new bills that we're giving away

There are photographs on ev'ry one
Lincoln, Grant and Washington
Or you might like the ones with Henry Clay
Can you use any money today?

Two million, four million, six million, eight million, ten
Take what you want, when it's gone you can come back again

Bills that haven't been printed yet
You can have them by the sack
Coins that haven't been minted yet
That you never have to give back..."

A Reflection on Obama's Campaign:

Laugh it Up

"We began all wrong with that campaign song.
That phony speech how he would
take care of the old.
And kissing babies when he had a nasty cold.
That reporter knew what the people really needed
when they came with an empty cup.
He was smart enough to promise more than we did,
laugh it up, laugh it up, laugh it up!"

MOTORMOUTH
There's a light
In the darkness
Though the night
Is black as my skin
There's a light
Burning bright
Showing me the way
But i know where i've been

There's a cry
In the distance
It's a voice
That comes from deep within
There's a cry
Asking why
I pray the answer's up ahead
'Cause i know where i've been

There's a road
We've been travelin'
Lost so many on the way
But the riches
Will be plenty
Worth the price we
Had to pay

There's a dream
In the future
There's a struggle
We have yet to win
And there's pride
In my heart
'Cause i know
Where i'm going
And i know where i've been

MOTORMOUTH & ENSEMBLE
There's a road
We must travel
There's a promise
We must make
'Cause the riches
Will be plenty
Worth the risk
And chances that we take
There's a dream
In the future
There's a struggle

We have yet to win
Use that pride
In our hearts
To lift us up
To tomorrow

'Cause just to sit still
Would be a sin

ENSEMBLE
I know it, i know it
I know where i'm going

MOTORMOUTH
And lord knows i know..
Where i've been

MOTORMOUTH & ENSEMBLE
Oh! When we win,
I'll give thanks to my god
'Cause i know where i've been

Hear my song

Hear my song

Listen to the words in my heart
Listen to the hope I can bring

I respect people's views, etc. but if you aren't happy with our soon to be president, don't come and post on a "celebration" thread. If you want to start a policy discussion/argument, take it to the OT boards.

And, since everyone stole the songs I immediately thought of, I'll go with more of a stretch:

"One day you're slinging hash
Feeling so rejected
Lightning flash, you get resurrected
Make a splash- now you rate the big
Bravissimo
And with a thundercrash-
Crash kerplunk, bam kerboom
Zang kazunk, zam kazoom
Zowee powee holy cow he
Ordered up a rainbow to go
Wow! Pow! Lookout below!
Don't it go to show ya never know?"

Well, posting about your excitement for our president's inauguration is also policy discussion. A bit hypocritical, no?
