I just found out that Ven Daniel will be temporarily replacing Andy Karl as the UPS Guy in Legally Blonde on Broadway! First performance is July 23rd and will run through Sept. 7th before joining the tour. I'm totally there!!!!!
"He found something that he wanted, had always wanted and always would want— not to be admired, as he had feared; not to be loved, as he had made himself believe; but to be necessary to people, to be indispensable."
-F. Scott Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise
He was Cupid on the Broadway Bares poster last year. I saw him in Tarzan and have kept up with him since. He is so talented and the nicest guy! I'd attach a picture but I don't know how!
Is Andy leaving the show? Is Andy okay? Is he just stepping aside so that Ven can get a feel for the role before starting the tour? Is he having some sort of surgery?

Thank you. I must have missed the announcement where it said he was cast in 9 to 5. Or forgotten it lol

So is Ven just playing the Kyle the UPS Guy or does he get Andy's whole track (including Dewey and Grandmaster Chad)? I know that understudies go on for Andy, one guy plays Kyle and another guy plays Dewey and Grandmaster Chad.
RIGHT NOW: Closing DISNEY'S WHEN YOU WISH at Marquee Productions (Apr. 23-26)
NEXT UP: Playing Albert Peterson in BYE BYE BIRDIE at The Western Stage in Salinas, CA (Aug. 15-Sept. 5)

I saw it once when Andy was out and they only had two people covering the roles. One person was Dewey/Kyle and the other was Grandmaster Chad.

Ven is doing the whole track! Kelly2, Why would u think he is wrong for the role? Have you seen him in something? Or is it just based on his look? He played Luke in Altar Boyz in Florida, same as Andy! My friend saw it and said he was amazing!
It's not a character from the movie, it's a new part added for the musical version, he plays Allison Janney's love interest.
Re: Ven, I'm sure he's very talented, and I have no problem with him. I just can't picture him playing Paulette's hunky, super masculine knight in shining armor. :) I'm sure I'll go see him eventually, and maybe I'll change my tune, but he certainly is quite different than Andy.
Judging by his performance as Luke in Altar Boyz, he would be a great Grandmaster Chad. He seems to have comedic chops, so he should be good in the role.
